How Your Data is Used
Your Safety
Your safety is of paramount concern to us. All communications to us will be only be seen by those involved in this project. In turn we expect the same from you. There are currently (as at the launch of this project) only three external websites that this site links to - the hosting service, Squarespace; the survey website SurveyMonkey; and the Facebook discussion group. Emails sent through the Contact Us page go to a private email address, responses to the SurveyMonkey questionnaire will be used by the leaders of this project to support an application to Bedford Borough Council to register The Jackal as an asset of community value (ACV), and discussion on the Facebook page will be used to inform planning for the reopening of the pub. The identities of contributors to this discussion group will only be seen by members of that group but confidentiality of membership can only be guaranteed by the members themselves.
It is anticipated that sponsors of the application to register as an ACV will not be published by the Borough. We will seek similar assurances from the company registration authorities in due course.
The Facebook page that this site links to is a private group. Only members who have been admitted will be able to see who is a member and what they have posted; please respect the confidentiality this gives them. Facebook and you have a separate agreement over the use of your data. You do not have to join this group to give us your feedback; you can also message us through the contact page.
Your Email Address and Other Contact Details
We will never send you marketing emails. Your email address will be used only to keep you informed of developments in matters relating to The Jackal - it will not be sold, hired or in any other way provided to third parties. Your email address will only become part of the information that we keep if you send us a message through the Contact Us page or through the Facebook discussion group or by completing the SurveyMonkey questionnaire or returning a completed copy of the leaflet that was delivered to your home. If you no longer wish to receive emails then send us a message and we will remove you from the mailing list. Your email and other contact details will be processed by the Financial Conduct Authority/Companies House only if you decide to become a member of the Community Benefit Society or other legal entity formed to buy The Jackal. However, as noted above we will seek to prevent publication of this information.
